Prime Minister Hon. James Marape says Papua New Guinea has lost a great statesman in Sir Rabbie Langanai Namaliu.
“Papua New Guinea has lost a great statesmen in Sir Rabbie Namaliu, who served as the fourth Prime Minister of Papua New Guinea from 1988 to 1992, and as leader of the Pangu Pati I now lead,” he said.
“He had a distinguished career in the public service, in academia, politics and business.
“I join with family, friends, people of East New Britain and Papua New Guinea in mourning the passing of Sir Rabbie.
“We will do a State funeral befitting of a former Prime Minister and senior national leader.”
