THE Radisson Hotel Group, a leading international hotel chain has partnered with Paga Hill Estate in Port Moresby to offer its Radisson Blu hotel brand out of its 10 distinctive brands.
They announced their partnership in December 2023.
According to the Paga Hill Estate website, the development, once completed, will feature 229 world class boutique hotel rooms with 20 luxury villas boasting premium hotel amenities adding to long-stay and permanent apartments together with the country’s largest conference room.
In short, it’s a landmark development in the tourism and hospitality space for PNG.
A global award-winning hotel in its services and employment portfolio, the Denmark born company is unstayed to call PNG home or a perfect investment destination as did Canada based gold giant, Barrick which returned to the Pogera valley recently.
According to their website: “We believe in both PNG and its untapped tourism potential”.
And, they go on to say that PNG has a strong economic outlook on the back of its major resource developments.
Their Managing Director, Business Unit, Australasia, Mr Lachlan Hoswel spices up in their website with: “We are excited to be bringing our Radisson Blu brand to PNG on Paga Hill. It is an amazing location. The future of PNG is very positive with material projects underway and we see it as the perfect time for the launch of this hotel with increased corporate and leisure demand”.
It is a K700 million investment with PNG investors owing 40% of the total stake.
Construction is expected to commence in April with about 1,000 employees expected to work during the construction phase.
Having presence all over the globe with 10 distinctive cutting-edge brands, their Radisson Blu brand is poised to be a competitive edge atop the once glorious Paga Hill apportioned with 500,000m2 under Special Economic Zone.
