LOCAL level government managers in Chimbu Province have successfully completed a three-day induction training on national census and local level government roll update.
The training took place from Monday to Wednesday where the LLGs managers from the six districts in the province also took part of the council’s election preparation.
Simbu Election Manager, Mr Tom Sine said the training was designed to equip the council managers about latest changes before they go out and carry awareness in their respective districts.
He said for the council managers to deliver the successful upcoming LLG election, it’s very important for them to fully equip and understand the latest process and procedures.
Mr. Sine said the government has two important programs coming up – the national census and LLG election.
He told them that they have a very important role to play.
“We need to conduct awareness and educate the people on how well they can cope with the latest changes,” Sine said.
The Chimbu Election Manager thanked Governor Noah Kool and Provincial Administrator John Punde for financially supporting them to conduct the training.
He said the provincial administration gave them support to ensure that they deliver the successful council election in July.
Administrator Puinde who was present on Monday to officiate the training challenged the public servants who would involve and take lead in the two exercise to do it properly.
He said Chimbu was known for delivering successful elections in the past.
“We must try and maintain our past records and deliver good elections,” Puinde said.
He told the public servants that the onus is on them to go out and get the job done.
