The International Training Institute (ITI), which has produced more than 22,000 graduates since its establishment in 1996, hosted its second alumni event last night to celebrate their experiences, achievements and progress.

The event aimed to bond former students and reconnect them with ITI as they pursued their individual careers and future ambitions.

During the event, ITI chairman and co-founder Senthil Kumaran Sentheyval announced the launch of three initiatives.

“Today we launched the new alumni logo, the alumni student app and the alumni membership card that comes with benefits.

“This is an achievement for the school as it is believed to be the first institution in Papua New Guinea to take a step forward and be innovative starting at this level.

“Schools and institutions may have alumni nights as such but not to the extent as what we are doing by giving them cards and having them getting themselves registered on the alumni student app.

“This is just the start of us being innovative by getting our former students registered and giving them cards and so more benefits will follow in the future.”

Only former graduates of ITI are eligible for the alumni membership card, after successfully filling the application form.

If the application is successful, they are issued a card, their application is where their data base is, so once they start working, they are linked up using their data base on the alumni student app.

The alumni membership cards come with benefits, to which the institution has partnered with business houses so that those with the alumni membership cards can have access to discount prices within the business houses depending on the discount rates set by the businesses in this way the business houses get more clients too.

The business houses include Trends, Daltron, CHM Group, WTL, PNG Embroidery, Boroko Motors  who were there to announce their partnerships with ITI and the different rates of discounts they offered.

Two successful applicants of the alumni were presented with the cards.

One of the recipients, Milton Hompimie Neinguma, said: “I want to extend my heartfelt gratitude to the International training  Institute for its unwavering commitment to fostering skill development, leadership and innovation. The ITI alumni membership card its not only a token, it is a badge of honor and representation of a shared journey and I am happy to own and be part of one.”

Mr Sentheyval said ITI was looking forward to creating more innovation initiatives to link alumnis and boost the growth and networking of the institution. He added that ITI was also looking forward to partnering with more business houses to improve quality education at affordable prices.
