SP Brewery Supports Bou Festival

South Pacific Brewery (SP Brewery) is pleased to announce its partnership with the Bou Festival Committee, contributing K5,000 to support the staging of this year’s festival in Alotau, Milne Bay Province.

The Bou Festival will take place from Friday 12 to Tuesday 16 September at the Bou Sports Centre.

The festival celebrates Milne Bay’s diverse culture and promotes agri-tourism with an emphasis on sustainability and conservation.

SP Brewery Sales Manager Outstation, Natasha Gegelagi presented the cheque to the Bou Festival Committee. She said the company was delighted to support an event that strengthens cultural identity and sustainability.

“SP Brewery is proud to support the Bou Festival as it creates real value for the communities that support us,” Ms Gegelagi said.

“This event celebrates the rich culture of Milne Bay, boosts tourism in the area and highlights important themes of sustainability and conservation that are vital for our future.

“Supporting initiatives like this reflects our core value of care for people and the planet. We are grateful for the opportunity to bring communities together, showcase our country’s diverse culture, and promote practices that protect and sustain our environment for generations to come,” Ms Gegelagi said.

Bou Festival Committee Representative, Sioni, expressed gratitude for the sponsorship and stressed on the importance of conservation and sustainability.

“We thank SP Brewery for supporting this year’s Bou Festival. Your sponsorship reflects a strong commitment to preserving our culture and supporting conservation “and sustainability in Milne Bay,” Mr Sioni said.

“It helps us showcase our traditions and encourage communities to adopt practices that protect the environment, enhance agriculture and fisheries, and support sustainable development,” he said.

The Bou Festival will attract tourists and locals alike from across the country. It features traditional performances, cultural displays, and exhibitions.

SP Brewery will set up a booth at the festival from 12 – 14 September to raise awareness on responsible consumption. Persons above the legal drinking age (18+) are encouraged to visit the booth
