PNG National Forest Authority (PNGFA) held a dedication service on Monday at their head office to commit 2026 to God Almighty for His guidance and protection for a successful year.
The dedication service was attended by the staff members who swore their oath to affirm their commitment into the authority declaring their stench in the guided principles honesty, perseverance and indignity to ensure a conducive environment is created for a productive work flow.
The keynote speech of Acting Managing Director John Mosoro, who is away on duty travel, was read by Acting Chief Operating Officer Jim Mange.
It was the first time for PNGFA management and staff hold the dedication service with a clear purpose, “To reset, recommit and dedicate ourselves to a new beginning in 2026”.

The theme was also used during the 2026 National Dedication Service where Prime Minister James Marape, Public Service Minister Joe Sungi and Chief Secretary Ivan Pomaleu addressed the public servants last week.
“To reset means we pause and realign ourselves to why PNGFA exists — to manage and protect Papua New Guinea’s forests responsibly for the benefit of our present and future generations.
“And to renew our promise to integrity, professionalism, accountability, and respect for the law. Public service is public trust, and each of us carries that responsibility,” it red.
“While looking at the country’s 50th Independence Anniversary celebrated last year, a new journey for the next 50 years is unveiling , hence the importance of this timely theme: “Reset, Recommit and to Dedicate ourselves to a new beginning in 2026.”
The speech stated that 2026 was a year of reforming PNGFA. Outlining the objectives of the organization, the Amendment to Forestry Act 1991 – once approved, the PNGFA will have extra tasks, such as nature-based issues to manage carbon trade and restructuring the authority.
“In 2026, I urge you all to choose the right path forward, one of strong leadership, ethical decisions, teamwork, and sustainable forest management,” Mr Mosoro stated.
“Resource owners and landowners are important stakeholders in the forestry sector and while the Public Service Minister urged the different sectors to attend effectively to clients and public servants in their respective sectors.
“I call upon each staff at Headquarters to effectively attend to our provincial staff and landowners and resource owners. PNGFA is amongst a very few government bodies that has staff in all 22 provinces. Provincial staff, you must also carry out your tasks diligently, so landowners and resource owners are satisfied and do not come to HQ.”
