The International Training Institute (ITI) will be hosting the second AI summit in Port Moresby on Friday, March 6.
ITI Chairman Senthil Kumaran Sentheyval said: “The summit aims to cover trending and present time topics related to Generative AI, AI in Education and Learning, AI in Finance, AI in ethics and government including AI in healthcare and others.”
The summit will be witnessed by the Governor General, Grand Chief Sir Bob Dadae, with speakers from abroad and PNG involving department heads in education and ICT as well.
Mr. Sentheyval highlighted that compared to the first AI summit, the second summit is having more participants and guest speakers involved with more looking forward to invest for next year’s summit.
“We are having up to 400 plus participants with 19 guest speakers who will be showcasing transformative powers of AI across industries where they are in whilst fostering discussions around the responsible and ethical of development of AI in PNG,” he said.
Mr Sentheyval emphasized that given the current global trend towards the adoption of advanced technologies.
“The reason for us hosting this AI summit is to make awareness on the use of AI whilst providing practical implications on the ethical use of AI in the country,” he said.
“The participants as well as the sponsors feedback from the last summit is actually great, in fact we have more sponsors coming in for the next summit two summits in April next year.”
Mr Sentheyval appreciated the sponsors of the second summit and while encouraging more tech companies and organizations to be collaborative in future summits.
“The second AI summit is not just an event, it is a collaborative platform with professionals, researchers and technologists to learn from and engage in practical knowledge whilst discovering the latest AI innovations,” Mr. Sentheyval said.
