Former inaugural Miss Bird of Paradise PNG, Tyla Krystal Singirok, has officially announced her departure from the Miss Bird of Paradise PNG platform after years of representing and volunteering within the organization.

In a heartfelt statement released this week, Ms. Singirok reflected on what she described as an “amazing journey” serving both as the inaugural titleholder and later as a volunteer operations team member for the national pageant platform.

Ms. Singirok made history after being crowned the inaugural Miss Bird of Paradise PNG on December 3, 2023, a title she said carried deep personal significance and responsibility throughout her tenure.

Following her reign, she continued her involvement with the organization by volunteering as part of the operations team during the reign of former Miss Bird of Paradise PNG titleholder May Hasola in 2025.

In her statement, Ms. Singirok said her decision to step away comes after careful reflection and consideration of her personal ambitions and future goals.

“After taking stock of my own goals, I’ve decided to formally step away from this role to focus on some of the things that I want to achieve,” she stated.

She added that the decision was emotional but necessary at this stage of her life.

“This decision comes with a great deal of reflection and emotion, but it is one I feel is right for me at this time,” she said.

Ms. Singirok also expressed gratitude to the Miss Bird of Paradise PNG organization for the experiences and memories she gained throughout her journey with the platform.

“I am sincerely grateful for the opportunities, experiences, lessons and memories of love and laughter that I have gained throughout my time as inaugural MBoP as well as volunteering on the Ops team,” she said.

She further extended her best wishes to the executive committee and the current Miss Bird of Paradise PNG titleholder Iampela Popena as preparations continue for the upcoming national pageant scheduled for December, where 22 provincial queens are expected to compete for the national crown.

Ms. Singirok concluded her message by reaffirming her appreciation for the platform and the people she worked alongside during her time with the organization.

“With Grace,” she signed off, acknowledging her tenure as the inaugural Miss Bird of Paradise PNG 2023/24.
