THREE boxes of children’s books, stationaries, computer sets for school, clinic and medical supplies donated to Dorobisoro village a trekking project in Central Province on last week Wednesday.
Ghost Mountain Expedition, a new tourism initiative under PNG Tribal Foundation working closely with Australian Trekker Peter Gamgee and the generous support from Blackall Range Lions Club, Queensland in Australia, donated the computer sets.
While Tribal Foundation donated cartons of children’s reading books and stationaries to serve more than 300 students in Dorobisoro community school.
Rigo District Health Coordinator Shinesa Silam confirmed a box of antibiotics and a cooler esky of vaccines for all women including pregnant mothers and children between ages of seven and above.
Community Health Worker Elijah Lofulo said there were a lot of challengers faced with basic medical treatment for locals over the years but since the support they got from Peter Gamgee and Tribal Foundation has helped them improved a lot in treating patients.
“Since the installation of solar power and starlink it helped us alot in communication, keep our vaccines in cooler fridge and now that we received laptop, printer and all other office equipment is a blessing to us and it will help us give quality service back to the people especially when it comes to send report back to head office.
All vaccines kept inside the fridge can help us continue threat patients.”
Newly appointed headmaster of Dorobisoro Community School, Thomas Witne said, the laptop and printer with books will help sustain a good learning for students in remote village.
The school was reopened in January since its closure four years ago.
He is looking forward to rebuild the school to Rigo district school standards.
