(Mendi, SHP)
A contracted company that was engaged earlier this year by the Southern Highlands Provincial Government for few rehabilitation projects in Southern Highlands Provincial Capital, Mendi town, has taken an initiative to give back to the town and the surrounding community.
As part of their community incentive program, Olympus Project has engaged less than ten employees to the PNG Power Head Office in Mendi Town for a mini facelift.
The employees engaged include painters, welders, still fixers and carpenters.
Their engagement is out of the formal contract signed by the company and SHPG, but is a token of commitment towards community service, focusing on reviving the small town into its former stage.
Special Projects Officer Jonathan Urap has told Sunday Bulletin from Mendi that the company is now giving back to the town and the local people of Mendi.
“This mini refurbishment and repainting of the PNG Power House in Mendi is to give back to the community and our town as part of our community support services,” said Mr. Urap.
Olympus Projects is currently conducting a full exterior rehabilitation, renovation and refurbishment of the seven stories Agiru Centre building in Mendi Town.
Mr. Urap further explained that a possible contract extension for the completion of interior rehabilitation is possible and might happen soon.
