NCC FLY PNG MUSIC SENSATION ANSLOM AND PRODUCER, TOXIC MAHN TO USA

TWO of Papua New Guinea’s top Musicians, Anslom Nakikus and Music Producer Emmanuel Muganaua, also commonly known as Toxic Mahn, is setting their sights high and beyond the PNG music industry.

They will be travelling to the United States of America (USA) for the International Singer- Song Writer Association (ISSA) Award presentation in Atlanta where Emmuel Muganaua or Toxic Mahn was nominated as a finalist for the event which will happen on the Saturday, 24, August. Whilst Anslom Nakikus will also be attending the Inter-Continental Music Awards in Los Angeles on Sunday, 25, August, where three of his hit songs, Break the Barrier, Jail Bird and Zion Train were nominated in the African Reggae/ Dancehall category as well.

The National Cultural Commission in its ongoing effort to support and promote PNGs local musicians, up coming artists, and music producers from within and abroad has stepped in to assist Anslom Nakikus and Toxic Mahn for the trip to the United States of America with return tickets at a cost of K27, 000.00.

In a small but significant ceremony held at the National Cultural Commission boardroom, Monia Tower, in Port Moresby today, Ms. Jenny Jeffrey (Executive Manageress of Corporate Services at NCC), representing the Executive Director of NCC, Mr. Steven Enomb Kilanda, presented the tickets to Anslom Nakikus and Emmuel Muganaua, Toxic Mahn.

Ms Jeffrey said NCC is proud to support Papua New Guinea musicians and artists including producers and help them promote the music industry as they take their music to international stages.

“Anslom and Emmuel, they both were part of the PNG contingent that attended the Pacific Festival of Arts and Culture in Honolulu, Hawaii early this year. The recognition and exposure at the international arena set the platforms for our local artists and musicians to keep promoting the best of Papua New Guinea through music and talents that we have in the country.

Hence, NCC is a proud sponsor, and we wish Anslom Nakikus and Emmuel Muganaua the best in their musical endeavours. Keep on making us proud and fly the Papua New Guinea flag high,” she added.

The NCC’s ongoing support for Anslom Nakikus and his band highlights National Cultural Commission commitment and dedication in promoting Papua New Guinean music on the global stage.

Singer, song writer and PNG Music sensation, Anslom Nakikus expressed his gratitude for the National Cultural Commission’s unwavering support.

“It has been a very long journey, and it is an honour to receive consistent backing from the National Cultural Commission. NCC’S has been instrumental in my musical career where they sponsor me to India, Hawaii for the PACFEST and continue to help me in pursuing my career in music and our journey so far. I want to extend my heartfelt thanks to the NCC Executive Director Mr. Steven Enomb Kilanda for always standing behind us to continue the work we do through music and for NCC and its staff for their tireless support on this musical journey.”

Mr. Nakikus said, “through their Music, they will continue to inspire, influence and promote Papua New Guinea’s at the World stage whenever they get the opportunity to do so.”

He further added that the support from National Cultural Commission not only boosts his musical career but, it is shining a spotlight on the rich musical talents that are in Papua New Guinea.

Anslom Nakikus and Emmuel Muganaua or Toxic Mahn will be flying out today from Port Moresby via Brisbane then to Georgia, Alanta and Los Angeles in the United States of America.
