Minister Solan condemns cult practice

THE Minister for Works and Highways and Member for Telefomin Hon Solan Mirisim has condemned the cult practice in Mitihanap ward in the Oksapmin LLG of Telefomin District and want to see that the perpetrators face the full force of the law.
When responding to this paper’s queries, Solan said he is fully aware of the cult practice in Mitihanap ward in the Oksapmin LLG of Telefomin District.
He condemned the action of the ring leader and his key followers and would want to see that the perpetrators face the full force of the law.
He is urging all the community leaders in the Oksapmin LLG to come together and work with the police to help apprehend this ring leader and make sure that this cult activity is never practiced again in the district.
This incident has been isolated however, it has come to his attention weeks ago following the assault and murder of few individuals at that particular ward.
He also understands that the number of followers has increased not because they want to follow this cult practice but through threat, intimidation and harassment done but the ring leader and key members of this cult group.
Solan in his capacity is willing to meet all logistical arrangements for six-police personals in Tabubil to be deployed to Oksapmin LLG mid- next week.
The six police personals comprise of local and mobile squad personals detached to Tabubil are willing to go and conduct investigation on full-time and effect arrest and at the same time raise awareness to restore-law and order and normalcy back to Oksapmin LLG.
