A COUPLE are appealing to the general public to help them raise funds to send their only son to seek medical attention in Philippines.
The couple, Robert Tauraki and wife Melisha Kauwe are residing in the Moresby South electorate in the National Capital District. Their one and nine-months old baby Anthony, has a growth on both side of his (son) nose since birth.
The couple told this paper that they are now raising funds after lack of efforts following up at the Port Moresby General Hospital.
According to Tauraki he said the lump was sustained through a complication encountered during their son’s delivery.
Tauraki said after their son was born, they noticed the lump on both sides of his nose and the doctors told them it was a buildup of fluids.
“They wanted to operate him two days after he was born and we have been going to and fro and it’s nearly two years now,” he said.
He said they were told by doctors that if an operation was to be done, it would disturb the nerves running to the eye.
Tauraki who is the only bread winner for the family, works with the National Capital Dispirit Commission (NCDC).
He said they don’t know how much it will cost to go overseas, but they will try to raise as much as they could.
Anthony was born on December 13,2020 and any assistance to help him can be done through the following contacts.
Dad Robert on 78619029 and grandfather, Francis Kauwe on 70557441.
