Public Affairs manager of Total Energies Limited Mr. Richard Kassman has announced Papua LNG’s sponsorship and dedicated support towards the Toare Gulf Mask Festival this year, at the National Cultural Commission Office in Port Moresby on Thursday 25th July.
This significant announcement was made during a K15,000 cheque presentation to the festival’s organizing committee by Mr. Kassman and associate staff members of Papua LNG.
The aforementioned momentous festival is an annual cultural event that deeply emphasizes on tourism promotion, and the preservation of cultural heritage and traditions from Gulf province . It will take place from the 02nd to 03rd of August this year.
“The preservation and conservation of cultural heritage in Papua New Guinea is a significant practice to the people of this nation and we are pleased to support it,” said Kassman.
Mr. Kassman further stated that they will also assist by seeking corporate sponsorship, as well as the national government’s support towards this cultural festival.
“As a project, we are committed to maintain and celebrate the diverse traditions that defines local communities and the people within our project area, that we are continually interacting with daily.”
Mr. Kassman also said that the festival will celebrate the traditional trading system, and relationship between Motuan people of Central Province and the Gulf province.
“It is important to provide long-term backing in commemorating and reveling the cultural enrichment of the societies that we are part of.”
As the responsible government agency, National Cultural Commission also contributed a sum of K5,000 to the festival as well.
The Organizing Committee of Toare Gulf Mask Festival extended their gratitude to Papua LNG and the National Cultural Commission for the timely support towards this significant event.
