THE decommissioned Minister for Housing, Hon. Kobby Bomareo, has been reappointed to his Ministry again by the Marape-Rosso Government.
He was sworn in by the Governor General Sir Bob Dadae at the Government House at Konedobu in Port Moresby today.
Along Minister Bomareo, four other new Ministers were sworn in as well.
The swearing in ceremony was witnessed by a high-level government delegation led by Prime Minister James Marape and Deputy Prime Minister John Rosso.
Member for Kerema and former Vice Minister for Petroleum, Hon. Thomas Opa, has been elevated to Energy Ministry, replacing Hon. Jimmy Maladina, who recently stood down as Energy Minister following his recent arrest in Australia.
Member for Vanimo-Green, Hon. Belden Namah, was sworn in as the new Minister for Culture and Tourism to fill up the position left vacant by former Minister and Member for Samarai Murua, Isi Henry Leonard.
Member for Ungai Bena, Hon. Kinoka Feo, on the other hand takes over the Higher Education, Research, Science and Technology Ministry left vacant by former Minister, Hon. Don Polye, who defected the government to join the Opposition camp.
Member for Wapenamanda, Hon. Miki Kaeok, was appointed as the new Minister for Finance, replacing former Minister Hon. Rainbo Paita.
Prime Minister James Marape in his remarks expressed the government’s confidence in the newly appointed Ministers.
He assured that the appointments of the new Ministers were made following due processes.
“I would like to assure the country that the government’s decision pertaining to these appointments is genuine as three of the Ministers appointed served as Vice Ministers and have been elevated to State Ministers,” PM Marape said.
