A lead energy-efficient solutions company in the South Pacific seeks to establish its business outside of Fiji and invest in Papua New Guinea.
The Paradise Technologies Group – a leading solutions provider specialized in delivering comprehensive services across multiple industries in the South Pacific wishes to establish its office in Port Moresby in mid this year (2025).
The representatives of the company including the founder and director, Raghu Chowdhary, were among a Fiji business and trade delegation who were on a trade mission in Port Moresby, from the 23rd to the 27th March, 2025.
The Fiji delegation was led by Fiji’s Deputy Prime Minister, Manoa Kamikamica and Investment Fiji representatives who had conducted meetings and visited several business houses and companies in Port Moresby during the visit.
Paradise Technologies Group Director, Raghu Chowdhary, said the cost of electricity in PNG is 60 per cent higher compared to Fiji’s 40 per cent and they see a huge potential that they can tap into reducing electricity costs in doing business.
“We are in the business of energy saving. Energy cost is one of the biggest worries for our people in PNG. We found that everybody we spoke to; they’re already saying that costs of energy are becoming prohibitive so there has to be some methods of reducing the cost and that’s where we are coming into the picture,” Mr. Chowdhary said.
“We have technologies which can actually cut down your electricity bill by almost 30-40 per cent. So, what we do is we go into the location and we do an audit and we find out where we can actual put all our equipment which can save your electricity cost; and by doing that you can save 30-40 per cent costs. And that’s the biggest contribution we can give to PNG.”
“And I think everybody we have spoken to they’re all interested in getting our products in PNG and installed it so based on that we have decided that we should be coming to PNG and set up our business in April or month of May,” Mr. Chowdhary added.
“The most important thing which we found is that people are very friendly. We got a very good reception from the IPA (Investment Promotion Authority) when we came here.
“They (IPA) came and met us and gave a very good introduction of how we can start our business. I think all these is going to help us to make sure that we start up the business.
“If we can do our business here then many other people who are interested can come to PNG and do the same. So, at this point in time we can say that PNG is a place we are really happy to come,” he said. This is the first time for the Paradise Group to be in PNG and Mr. Chowdhary said they are happy with the fruitful discussions held with several commercial operators during the visit and will share their stories with the people back in Fiji.
