A final investigation report on the investigation into East New Britain Palm Oil Limited (ENBPOL) has been submitted to the Minister for International Trade and Investment, Hon. Richard Maru.
Deputy Chairman of the investigation team, Mr. Tony Waisi submitted the report to Minister Maru on Thursday.
Minister Maru commended the team led by Chairman Mr. David Mather and Deputy Chairman Mr. Waisi who completed the investigation and finalized the report in the record time of three months.
“The final report consists of the findings based on the Terms of Reference of the investigation and the recommendations arising from the investigation including recommendations on how the palm oil industry needs to be totally overhauled with a new legislation, policy and a new pricing formula,” said Minister Maru.
“I want to thank the investigation team, East New Britain Provincial Government and its Administration, the landowners, ENBPOL, New Britain Palm Oil Limited and everyone who assisted and participated in the investigation process.
“The report will be presented to the Cabinet next week,” added Minister Maru.
