BUTUKA Academy, Papua New Guinea – China friendship school in Port Moresby was graced with the presence of Governor of Guangdong Province, China in its fifth anniversary celebration. Governor Wang Weizhong was accompanied by National Capital District Governor Powes Parkop and Port Moresby South MP Justine Tkatchenko to Butuka Academy – a visit that strengthens the friendship between Port Moresby and Shenzhen City of China.

Mr Weizhong said the friendship that the two cities has involving the young students, shows how the people of the two cities will walk together into the future.
Mr Parkop also said the agreement signed in 2017 for both cities to partner in development where done without any expectation to have Chinese government delegations visiting the place.

“We are happy that through this school, PNG and the People’s Republic of China partner in development,” Parkop said.
He said it is an honour to have Governor Weizhong visiting Port Moresby and get to spend some time with students and staff of the friendship school, Butuka Academy.
Butuka Aacademy Board Chairlady Ni Cragnolini said it was an extra ordinary day to welcome Governor Weizhong to Butuka.

“As you just witnessed, our students just greeted you with beautiful smiles. Governor Wang, ever since you inked the agreement in 2017, Butuka Academy has blossomed into a beacon of light within our city,” Lady Ni said.
She also extended her appreciation to Chinese President Xie Jingping for the continue support to the school.

Moreover, Butuka Academy staff and students have presented locally made gifts to the Governor and his delegation to take back as appreciation from the student and the community in which the students come from to attend Butuka Academy.
