THE XIV World Indigenous Business Forum starts today at 5pm, with the opening ceremony at the Sir Hubert Murray Stadium in Port Moresby.
The forum, which is expected to host 300 international participants from 14 countries, has confirmed that 150 of the participants are already in the country.
PNG will have 300 delegates attending the event.
International Trade and Investment Minister Richard Maru thanked the WIBF management and board for granting the department the rights to host the event and said they have been preparing for the event for the past 10 months.
Mckenzie Oatway, who is from the WIBF Secretariat in Canada, said she is impressed with the preparations.
She said the atmosphere was welcoming and she was looking forward to her stay in Port Moresby.
Fazillah Bazari, a representative of the National Capital District Commission, who are co-hosts of the forum, said the city is ready to host a spectacular event for the visiting delegates.
Meanwhile, Minister Maru said the event will connect the world’s reputable indigenous businessmen and women with PNG businesses and tasked PNG small-to-medium enterprises (SMEs) to embrace the opportunity to expand their markets.
