Port Moresby, 16 July 2024 – The National Trade Office,
through its Corporate Services Division, has launched a
comprehensive one-week public service induction program at
the SILAG Training Center. This initiative, running from July
15th to 19th, 2024, aims to facilitate the transition of 30
probationary officers into permanent public servant roles
within the National Trade Office.
The induction program is designed to equip the officers with
the necessary knowledge, skills, and understanding of public
service values and operations, ensuring they are well-
prepared to contribute effectively to the National Trade
Office’s mission and objectives.
In his opening remarks, Corporate Services Director Mr. Bui
Kandato emphasized the importance of this program in
fostering a competent and dedicated workforce. He also
expressed gratitude to Chief Trade Officer Mr. Richard Yakam
for his instrumental role in making this program possible, and

and the diligent efforts of our HR team have been pivotal in
providing this valuable opportunity for our new officers to gain
the credentials and confidence they need to serve as
permanent public servants,” Mr. Kandato stated.

professional development of the probationary officers,
culminating in the awarding of certificates upon successful
completion. This certification will affirm their readiness to
