NCD commits K1 million sponsorship for upcoming business forum

THE National Capital District (NCD) has taken the lead with K1 million sponsorship commitment towards hosting the upcoming World Indigenous Business Forum (WIBF) in Port Moresby.

NCD Governor, Hon. Powes Parkop announced this sponsorship during the WIBF sponsorship night at the APEC Haus in Port Moresby last Wednesday.
Parkop said NCDC is presenting K1 million to support the forum as the co-host of the event.

He said the event will be different and special one as it brings great opportunity for the Micro and macro businesses in the country.

“Port Moresby is the gateway to PNG and so our sponsorship is to make sure we showcase the diverse cultures as well as create a safe and conducive environment for the forum participants to enjoy during the event,” Parkop said.

He said NCD is putting such amount of money for the benefit of the highest tax payers in the city, who would wish to venture into doing business with other global business entrepreneurs.
As a host sponsor of the forum, the National Government has announced K2 million sponsorship towards the WIBF.

Several other sponsors also announced their sponsorships towards the event in the categories of Platinum, Silver, Bronze, and kind sponsors.

Amount given during the sponsorship night includes; K1 million from NCD, K250, 000 from KPHL, K100, 000 from OK TEDI, K100, 000 from National Gaming Board, K50, 000 from Australian Government.

Amount given prior to the sponsorship night includes; K300, 000 from Special Economic Zone Authority as Platinum sponsor, K300, 000 from TISA as Platinum Sponsors, K300, 000 from Santos as Platinum Sponsor, K300, 000 from KPHL as Platinum Sponsor, K300, 000 from Department of International Trade and Investment as Platinum Sponsor, K100, 000 from MRDC as Silver Sponsor, K100, 000 from Telekom Ltd as Silver Sponsor, and K100, 000 from Trans Wonderland Ltd as Silver Sponsors of K100, 000.

Kind sponsors includes; EMTV Silver Sponsor of K100, 000, NBCTV Bronze Sponsor of K100, 000, and FM100 Bronze Sponsor of K40, 000
Total progressive amount including the K2 million host sponsorship from the Government stands at K7, 340,000.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister James Marape expressed his gratitude towards Minister for International Trade and Investment, Hon. Richard Maru for spearheading the WIBF.

Minister Maru extended his invitation to micro and macro businesses in PNG to register and be part of this great event as it is four (4) weeks away.
A total of 172 organization have registered already and the number is expected to rise each week before the Event.
