PNG Kumuls and Melbourne Storms centre Justine Olam urges all Papua New Guineans to promote the country in a more positive way to boost the tourism industry.
Olam, who was officially named as the Tourism Promotion Authority’s (TPA) brand ambassador last Thursday, will carry on the TPA brand with his influence as National Rugby League (NRL) player said he will represent PNG in what he does best.
“It is an honour and privilege to represent this beautiful nation to help promote PNG to the rest of the world,” he said.
“We have so much potential in tourism and the potential is still untapped and I am looking forward to working with TPA.”
“We are doing our part; every citizen needs to do their part and even the media people, you guys are the image of PNG, what you put out there is important as it is going to market PNG to the rest of the world.”
He said the PNG and Melanesian way of treating visitors and others with respect and open hands must continue and that story must be told everywhere by individual Papua NEW Guineans.
Olam will the TPA brand ambassador for a period of 12 years.
