FOUR Technicians from Remington Technology and FX Business Centre (Fujifilm Business Innovation PNG) are participating in a pioneer program called “Training the Trainers”.
The training is facilitated by Elites Training & Consultancy, a training provider certified by the National Training Council of Papua New Guinea.
The program is a first for these market leading technology and document solutions companies. The four technicians taking part in this program have 58 years of combined experience in the field, and a wealth of knowledge to share.
Andrew Schmidt (Remington Technology Technical Training & Support Manager), Frederick Tolison (Remington Technology Service Manager), Micah Zale (FX Business Centre Senior Service Technician) and Nelson Nombri (Remington Technology Service Field and Technician Supervisor) will undergo training that will assess them based on projects and presentations in four intense sessions.
The aim is to train these technicians so that once they graduate; they will be registered as Instructors and Trainers for Remington Technology and FX Business Centre through the National Training Council.
Remington Group Chief Executive Officer, Peter Goodwin said: “Remington Group is continually evolving. We like to see our people grow. We’re in the business of developing Papua New Guineans in their chosen specialist fields. The four certified technicians that are part of this program, which is the first of its kind for us, are the best at what they do. Collectively, they’ve been with the company for fifty-eight years and it is only right we provide them with the tools they need to train our next generation of technicians”.
Once they are certified, they will be responsible for training all technical staff of Remington Group, this will include apprentices that are part of the current Apprenticeship Program that Remington runs.
