CENTRAL Provincial Police Commander (PPC), acting Superintendent, Joseph Salle says a murder case was reported this morning at Laloki bridge, Goldie junction along Hiritani Highway in the Central Province.
PPC Salle said the male deceased was identified as Mathew Moitot from Erom village, Guari Local Level Government (LLG), Goilala District in the Central province. He said the murder took place yesterday evening but was reported to the police this morning.
Acting Superintendent Salle said prior to his death, the deceased was seen consuming home brew alcohol with friends between 7pm and 8pm yesterday, Thursday 27th March 2025 at Laloki.
PPC Salle said the cause of the death was yet to be established whether the deceased was murdered and left on the road or still alive lying on the road and ran over by an unknown motor vehicle.
He said the police Criminal Investigation Division (CID) team would determine the next cause of action to be taken by the police.
PPC Salle has appealed to the public who may have the knowledge of his death to come forward and give information to the Central police to assist them with police investigations.
Mr Salle also urged the immediate family members and the relatives of the deceased not to take law into to their own hands and let police complete their investigation to establish the cause of his death.
