Chamber keen to empower Central firms

THE Central Province Chamber of Commerce and Industry President Linda Paru says the public entity is keen to empower business owners in the province through skills and networking.
She said the chamber is affiliated to the national body and is committed to providing a platform to advance economic empowerment and alleviate poverty through business development
“Our vision is that by 2027, our influence will be significant for business in Central Province,” Paru said.
“We aim to support the expansion of existing businesses, while encouraging the growth of local entrepreneurships.
“The chamber is keen to engage in dialogue with the provincial government so that we can promote direct foreign investment into the province.
“One of our key strategies is to provide financial literacy for small business owners so that they can survive the marketplace.
She the chamber was keen to partner the provincial government in securing tangible economic development to the province.
“The establishment of the Edevu Hydro Power Project is an opportunity for Central-based businesses to boom as they now have access to water and power supply,” Paru said.
“We look forward to discussions in the coming weeks and month.”
