DEPUTY Prime Minister and Member for Lae, Hon. John Rosso, has extended his heartfelt congratulations to Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Peter Guinness on reaching a remarkable milestone of 50 years of dedicated serviceto theRoyal Papua New Guinea Constabulary (RPNGC).
“ACP Guinness has served this country with distinction, integrity, and courage for half a century. His commitment to law and order, discipline in leadership, and loyalty to the Constabulary and our people is truly exceptional,” The Deputy Prime Minister said.
Beginning his policing career on April 11, 1975,as a 16 year old, Guinness was inspired by his father who was a Senior Constable. Guinness rose through the ranks from a constable to an Assistant Commissioner of Police.
He has served as the Head of NCD CID, Provincial Police Commander of Morobe and is currently the ACP Commander for the Northern Command serving with unwavering dedication to public service, particularly in Morobe and the Highlands region.His leadership has been instrumental in managing some of the most complex law and order challenges in the country.
“As a long-serving officer of RPNGC, ACP Guinness has
become a symbol of resilience and professionalism in our police force. He has mentored generations of officers and has remained a steady hand during times of uncertainty,” the Deputy Prime Minister added.
Deputy Prime Minister Rosso,further commended ACP Guinness’s contribution to community policing, peace building efforts, and national security, noting that his legacy would continue to inspire many within and beyond the RPNGC.
“On behalf of the people and Government of Papua New Guinea, and the people in Lae and Morobe, I sincerely thank ACP Guinness for his service, sacrifice, and steadfast commitment to keeping our communities safe. Congratulations on this extraordinary achievement —50 years of service is no small feat, and we are grateful for your dedication.”Rosso concluded.
