A total of 87,500 Grade 10 students from 520 high and secondary schools nationwide will sit for the National Grade 10 Examinations from October 6–10.
Secretary for Education, Dr Uke Kombra, confirmed that all Grade 10 examination booklets have already been delivered to schools across the country in preparation for the exams.
Dr Kombra said marking in the National Capital District will begin immediately after the first exam. By the final day of exams, answer sheets will be verified before being dispatched to provinces for consistent and uniform marking.
He cautioned students and schools against exam malpractice, warning that consequences include non-certification for students, termination of teachers involved, and suspension of schools for a minimum of three years.
“We have eliminated cheating in examinations. Results are now based on hard work and offer better education benchmarks,” Dr Kombra said.
He also extended his best wishes to all Grade 10 students as they prepare to sit their exams next week.
