GRADUATING students of the Zion Zeal Christian School in the National Capital District were encouraged of the opportunities that are available through the FODE and the Open Campus of the University of Papua New Guinea (UPNG) during its graduation recently.
The two guest speakers were the Senior Assistant Register of the UPNG Open Campus, Kenneth Wunum and the Deputy Principal of FODE, Dr Janet Mondez.
The two speakers told mainly the second-year batch of the school’s Great 12. They were told about the opportunities that these two institutions can offer if they miss out on selections into tertiary institutions.
The school graduated a total of 64 students with seventh batch of Grade 8’, fifth batch of grade 10’s and second batch of Grade 12’s.
Wunum encouraged the students to take up upgrading programmes with FODE and later apply for entry into UPNG through the Open Campus.
Dr Mondez said FODE is a partner to everyone.
“FODE comes in a pathway for those who would like to pursue studies despite blockades and issues. It is a school of anytime, anywhere when students need it,” she said.
She said materials and tutorials are provided following a set of guidelines and timbales.
Prinicipal, John Kapak told the graduating students that it is not the end of their journey but they have another step to take up and there will be challenges awaiting them.
