Today marked a significant milestone not only for Bank South Pacific, but for small and medium enterprises across Papua New Guinea as they launched a new BSP Business Bank unit.

This new service is specifically designed to support SMEs across Papua New Guinea.

BSP CEO Mark Robinson described this event as a commitment to growth.

“This launch is part of our modernizing growth strategy. We are committed to evolving and strengthening our services to better serve our customers and communities in PNG and the Pacific,” Mr. Robinson said.

He highlighted that in Papua New Guinea, local businesses are more than just economic drivers; they represent the hopes and ambitions of families and communities throughout the country, starting from local start-ups to expanding enterprises.

The BSP Business Bank aims to deliver a more mobile-accessible and agile service, reaching customers where BSP only operates.

“We want to reach our customers wherever they are doing business, whether in markets, trade stores, or local communities,” said Robinson.

He added that BSP’s banking services are tailored to foster growth in Papua New Guinea.

Mr. Robinson also announced in his speech that beyond banking, BSP is proud to partner with Australian Business Volunteers.

Under this partnership, BSP and ABV deliver business and financial education workshops for small business owners.

“These workshops equip business owners with practical skills in areas such as cash flow management, business planning, tax basics, and marketing, helping SME owners and entrepreneurs build a stronger, more sustainable business,” Robinson clarified.

Following today’s launch, BSP will host a series of roadshows across Papua New Guinea.

“These roadshows will allow us to communicate directly with SMEs about the services and products we offer, “ stated Robinson.
