The Bank South Pacific Group has officially opened its new digital branch at Eliseo Plaza, Nine Mile, NCD, which has been in operation since its launch on 15 December 2025.
The digital branch is now focusing on making easier, safer and more accessible banking services available for people in the nearby areas to attend to their banking needs.
BSP Group General Manager for Retail Bank, Ronesh Dyal said; “Being a digital branch means we do not accept cash over the counter. But this is not about doing less. It is about doing things smarter and more efficiently. Customers can deposit and report cash through our self-service deposits and access full everyday banking services and without unnecessary trouble.
“With over just a month of operation, the community and the customers response has been amazing, within the six weeks of operation in this branch, which included the ATMs has possessed up to 40 000 transections. Over 2000 customers have used our deposit ATMs which went up to a million Kina in cash.
“The branch has also on boarded close to 1000 customers onto mobile and internet banking while 50 new wantok wallet accounts have been registered enabling families to transfer funds conveniently and safely.”
The Nine Mile branch now operates five days a week and offers self-services facilities, card services and general banking enquires.

“Our new branch, reflects our commitment, to support the prosperity of our customers and the community. It’s also very exciting to us, because this area of Port Moresby is one of the fastest growing corridors in the city.
“What hopefully this will do is allow people to access baking services much closer to the home, which is a very big part of our mission, which is giving people their time back, and they can use that time to spend it with their families, spend more time on work.”
This branch will support our customers in the North East District and parts of Central and Gulf provinces.
BSP has 122 branches across the Pacific of which 82 of those are in PNG which are often operated in locations as such as small towns, islands and villages, places where nobody chooses to operate.
More branches are expected to be opened this year, including the upgrading of branches in Porgera, Minj and Tari.
