THE International Training Institute (ITI) has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Federation of Savings and Loans Societies Incorporated to partner in promoting financial inclusion activities.
ITI co-founder and chairman Senthil Kumaran Sentheyval said: “The points mentioned in the MoU includes capacity building and training for staff and students, multiple learning and exchange between the two institutions, promoting finance and equity between institutions, also when we develop our courses, we want certain components of their industries to be incorporated as well where the students learn about the industry as well as internships for undergraduates, and corporate training.
“We are also going to work with them for different things in terms of Artificial intelligence as well, which is something new for all of us but we have the expertise and so that’s something that we want to work on as well if it’s needed,” Mr Sentheyval said.
Managing Director of the Federation of Savings and Loans Societies Inc, Paulus Laveil, said: “Thank you to the chairman and co- founder of ITI for approving the opportunity and signing the MoU with the Federation of Savings and Loans Societies Incorporated.
“We represent 18 license Societies and we are very fortunate that. You have given us this opportunity to start this relationship that will be formalized through the signing of the MoU.
“Our relationship actually started in the AI Summit in April, we needed help, we wanted to hold two sessions one on the artificial intelligence and one with anti-money Laundering and so we wanted Expert help, academic if possible and how that can be tailored to our context as the Savings and Loans industry.
“The ITI team will work with our IT team and I really want to have our website up and going because I think it’s a good way to make what we do visible and accessible to people so that they will know what we are doing and the kind of collaboration we are now starting with ITI,” Mr Laveil said.
ITI’s head of business department, Fincha Konte, said: “As an academic , it is a really good initiative for both organizations, in terms of capacity building and also guest lecturing we have industry expertise where some of you can come on board and we can do guest lecturing that way we it can benefit both of the institutions.”
