The Live2Lead PNG 2026 conference was hosted by the Tribal Foundation in partnership with John Maxwell Foundation in Port Moresby yesterday.
The conference was themed, “People Building is Nation Building”, which involved both local and international speakers highlighting practical leadership tools and inspire personal growth for nation building.
The conference was described by the president of the PNG tribal Foundation Mr Gray Bustin. as one of the largest Live2 Lead conference attended apart from the United states.
“The reasons for hosting the Live2Lead conference is to add value to the individual participants of the meeting whilst raising funds to fight against sorcery related violence and Gender Based violence and seeking justice for the victims in PNG,” Mr Bustin said.
He added that of the hot spot areas for sorcery related violence in the Highlands Region and Morobe Province needed special attention and action to curb this crime.
Mr Bustin stressed that of the Tribal Foundation’s key achievements was the Glassman Act, which defended victims of sorcery related violence.
“We had the first woman who has been successfully prosecuted and found guilty on the Glassman Act which is a bill that we wrote in 2020, and we are having a lot of people arrested across the country under this Act whilst seeking justice for the victims,” Mr Bustin said.
“We have been working closely with the Department of Education, especially the guidance division, putting together curriculum that is going into the education system and we are on the third one that is expected to start this year advocating about sorcery and gender based violence in the country.”
Mr Bustin also urged other organizations to support the fight against sorcery related violence.
