FORMER Dabaris and PNG SP Hunters debutant Gairo Voro is happy to eventually make it to final 30-man squad.
In an interview with the Sunday Bulletin at the National Football Stadium, Gairo said he had learnt much from the Coaches and the senior players during pre-season trainings.
“I used to play 9s and rugby union and last year they took me into Central Dabaris.
“From there I was selected for Junior Kumuls and finally made it to Hunters,” he said.
Gairo plays five-eight and being in the Hunters was a bonus for him. He learnt much needed skills from the senior players and the coaches.
While playing at the village level, he never stopped dreaming about making it to such level as he kept on pushing forward for what the future holds for him.
Gairo is thankful that he made it to the 2024 30-man squad as a debutant in Hunters.
He looked up to the NRL and Queensland Legend, Daren Lockier, as his role model and a motivation for his journey to Hunters.
Gairo thanked Central Dabaris for making him acquainted and help him to find his way to junior Kumuls and into Hunters.
While looking forward for the 2024 season, Gairo aims to make it to the Kumuls in the future.
