H.E. Grand Chief Sir Bob Bofeng Dadae GCL, GCMG, KStJ, Governor General of Papua New Guinea, has expressed his heartfelt gratitude and appreciation to Manolos Aviation for its prompt response to an emergency call that has saved his life.
Grand Chief Sir Bob became gravely ill whilst in Lae in October 2023 to officiate the graduation ceremony of the Joint Forces Academy in Igam Barracks. Within hours of the graduation ceremony, the Governor General became almost unresponsive and required urgent medical attention.
The Governor General was rushed to Lae International Hospital where it was determined that Grand Chief Sir Bob required further emergency assistance, however, it was also determined that Grand Chief Sir Bob was not medically fit to travel on commercial flight back to Port Moresby.
Manolos Aviation Chief Pilot and owner Jurgen Ruh was contacted and responded immediately and had the Governor General medivaced from Lae to Port Moresby. Mr. Ruh’s quick response saved the Governor General who went on to undergo further medical treatment and has since recovered.
Grand Chief Sir Bob said, he is grateful to Mr. Ruh for responding to his plight which ultimately saved his life.
Grand Chief Sir Bob said, he is also grateful to Manolos Aviation for providing medivac and emergency services in rural parts of Morobe province particularly for pregnant mothers, and sick and injured persons that have no access to medical facilities, and that Mr. Ruh often provides such service without charge.
“A lot of peoples’ lives have been saved because of the extraordinary and selfless work you do especially in rural communities in Morobe province. Your quick response has saved my life and for that Lady Emeline and I are deeply grateful and thankful to you for coming to my aid when you did. You offer your service without expecting anything in return and that speaks volume about the person you are. You deserve to be acknowledged and supported for the remarkable service you provide,” Grand Chief Sir Bob said.
