Today the Health Minister Dr Lino Tom and the Health Secretary Dr Osbourne Liko and the new Chairman for Gulf Provincial Health Authority (GPHA) Augustine Mano visited Kerema Town and presented K15 Million to the GPHA for the infrastructure improvement of Kerema GH. In a low key ceremony, both Minister Dr Tom and New Chairman Mano acknowledge that everyone has all raised their concerns, issues and problems. It was now up to the new Board to get to work and offer solutions.
There was no time to celebrate and be happy but to accept the problems and issues currently facing the Kerema GH. All of us have witnessed the pain and suffering of our people and there was no time for us to talk but take action. A local MP for Kerema, urge all his people to remain positive and let’s work together to fix our hospital.
Chairman Mano has made no promises as he gets to work with his new board which is expected to have their first meeting in a week or two weeks time.
Gulf Governor Sir Christopher Haiveta and local MP Hon Thomas Opa also accompanied the Minister and Chairman and his team and pledged to support the work of the new Board in the rebuilding and reconstruction phase of health infrastructure in Gulf Province including Kerema General Hospital.
