THE member for Kairuku Hon. Peter Isoaimo was sworn in today as vice minister for Works and Highways under the Marape- Rosso Government.
The Prime Minister while addressing the media in congratulating the newly appointed minister, highlighted several projects of roads to undergo maintenance and uplift including the Hiritano Highway.
He said the government has already approved two contracts to roll total rehabilitation of the Hiritano highway.
Marape explained that the appointment of Hon. Isoaimo comes with a lot of responsibility which they targeting to achieve specific areas of interest that could see more introduction of services brought forward.
Prime minister highlighted the need to connect the road-link between the Morobe and Kerema and they counted on the leadership of Hon. Isoaimo to facilitate necessary procedures and ensure the goals come to reality.
“I want to announce that this swearing-in carries a lot of weight in conducting more advocacy and providing that leadership needed for us to achieve policies”, Marape Stated.
Meanwhile, Marape has also stated that despite many negative headlines being spinned in the country, he expresses that the government will continue to deliver and provide services to places that need upgrading to ensure we fulfill some of the government obligations.
Prime minister urges other leaders to look into transforming their land into development services by doing project submission with interested investors so that people in their communities receive a boost in standard of living and create opportunities for business.
