CENTRAL police officers attached to the Criminal Investigation Division (CID) are investigating the death of a 50-year old woman who was murdered on Sunday, January 2023 at Upulima station in Abau district of Central province.
Police alleged that the woman was in her house when the suspect approached her from the back and slashed her with a bush knife.
According to the CID officers who went to the scene to examine the body alleged that the suspect approached her at the back and attacked her by almost chopping her neck off.
Acting Central Provincial Police Commander, Senior Inspector Peterson Bigiri also confirmed that the Central police officers are investigating two cases that were reported at the same location.
He said one is an arson case and the other is the murder of the woman.
Mr. Bigiri said police had visited the crime scene where the woman was murdered and had also collected statements from the possible eye witnesses.
He said the incident happened between 3-4 pm and people will know who was involved.
The acting PPC said the deceased was identified as Waudole John from Abau’s Magarida village in Central province.
Mr. Bigiri also added that the police officers had also attended to an arson case at the same location where a newly built toilet and a grade eight classroom at Upulima Primary School were set alight by unknown suspects.
He said the toilet was completely burnt while the grade eight classroom was partly burning when the people near the school went and put off the fire.
Mr. Bigiri said the village leaders are not happy with what had happened and are assisting the police to investigate and make sure that those involved are arrested and charged.
