Commander in charge of police command in Kairuku, Central, Willie Hoiba has appealed to locals,
especially youths to uphold a peaceful election process during the 2025 Local Level Government
elections.
Hoiba who was recently appointed to the rank made this call in light of the issue of the LLG election
writs in Port Moresby today.
He said his men will be out in full force to maintain law and order during the election period.
He warned youths to abstain from illegal activities during the election period.
” That I mean by illegal consumption of homebrew and drugs and unruly behaviours will be monitored.
Anyone caught will face the full brunt of the law,” Hoiba said.
He added that his men will be patrolling all election campaign sites, right through to the polling date in
all venues to monitor and maintain peaceful election process is carried out.
He said that the local MP and Vice Minister for Works and Highways Peter Isoiamo will fully support the
police operations during the LLG elections and conveyed this gratitude towards his support to maintain
a peaceful election process.
