Karl: Air cargo terminal wearhouse needed

AIRLINE Business Analyst, Jerry Karl, says we need a cargo terminal warehouse to empower 80% of the population.

He said this during the Certified Practicing Accountants (CPA) PNG 28th Annual Conference in Port Moresby, with the theme “Navigating a Bigger Picture in a Complex World”.

“The government need to understand the importance of air cargo terminal Wearhouse which is currently not existing in Papua New Guinea,” Karl said.

PNG consisting of more than 80% of the population earn a living in subsistence agriculture and needs a market access that helps the community to participate in the economy.

“When the 80% of the people have the money, the streets become empty everybody becomes engaged contributing to the Goods and Service Tax (GST),” Karl said.

Furthermore, the Australian Fodder Industry Association (AFia) PNG is the only company that secured four slots in different Foreign-Trade Zone (FTZ) in four difference Province in China to do downstream processing and 3x 20ft container of green bean coffee, which will be ready for Korea and China this week.

Karl stated that to make Nadzap as an international traffic for import and export all key government stakeholders such as Tourism, Agriculture and Fisheries, need to work together to create the business case.
