Kerowagi MP donates tyres to Hohola police

IN a gesture aimed at bolstering the efficiency and safety of law enforcement, Kerowagi Member of Parliament (MP) Francis Kikin Siune has donated new tyres to the Hohola Police Station.
This act of goodwill follows the MP’s personal observation of the deteriorating condition of the police vehicles’ tyres.

“I decided to buy the tyres because law-and-order is everyone’s business,” Siune said.

“Port Moresby is PNG’s melting pot and I am doing my part to improve the work of police in the city.”
He said with the new tyres, officers at the station can now be able to carry out their duties without hindrance.
The Kerowagi MP emphasised the significance of reliable vehicles while highlighting the essential role of police in emergency situations.

“When we have problems in our offices or residences, police officers are the ones who respond to the calls, and so in order for them to get to us, they need reliable vehicles to get there fast,” he said.

“We don’t want officers to be delayed because of punctured tyres.

“We all want them to be there on time.”
Police Station Commander Sergeant Fabian Kigulu acknowledged Siune for his support.
“I was worried about how we could buy new tyres,” he said.

“We often get punctured tyres when on duty rounds and that has hindered our work.”
Siune assured the people of Kerowagi that the donation was from his own pocket and that there are plans to improve policing in the district.
“I want to work with the churches in Kerowagi to improve policing. I want to improve thepolice manpower in the district,” he said.
