Kumulsoft Empowers Government Agencies with Locally Developed Asset Management Software

By ZEBEDEE KUMPIO

A small software company has been supporting more than 39 government departments and agencies to manage and monitor their assets through its innovative software, the Fixed Asset Management System.

This was revealed on day two of the Global Transformation Summit hosted by the Department of Information and Communication Technology at the Stanley Hotel, Port Moresby, yesterday.

Kumulsoft Co-founder and Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Paul Muinnepe, said the purpose of the software is to track, manage, and maintain an organization’s physical assets, such as buildings and machinery, throughout their life cycle.

“Because I used to look after UPNG, and it has the Waigani campus, Taurama campus, and open campuses around the country with so many assets to manage physically. So that really challenged me to come up with this,” said Muinnepe.

“We have developed these features as a management system in the government space. The Fixed Asset Management software manages things like telephones, chairs, computers, medical equipment, hospital facilities, district facilities, and more.”

The CEO of the locally owned software company, established in 2007, said the company has provided two important software solutions to manage and facilitate government services.

“We are 100 percent locally owned, and we are the owners of two software products. The Fixed Asset Management System helps the government manage its assets, while the Legal Billing System serves SME law firms,” said Mr. Muinnepe.

He added that the Fixed Asset Management software helps government departments and agencies keep track of their assets efficiently.

Mr. Muinnepe also thanked DICT for always stepping in to support small software companies like his, helping to mitigate the daily challenges they face.
