Lagaip Open MP Elect Hon.Aimos Joseph Akem took less time to get acquainted in his role as the pioneer MP for his electorate as he was already a leader before he entered politics.
He graduated from the University of Papua New Guinea in 2011 with a degree in Environmental Science along with Finance and National Planning Minister Hon.Rainbo Paita alongside Menyamya Open MP and Vice Minister for Treasury Hon.Soilen Loifa who graduated with a Bachelor in Economics.
While attending the University of Papua New Guinea, Akem was a Student Leader with the Student Representative Council (SRC) when the second term Finchsafhen Open MP Hon.Rainbo Paita was the UPNG SRC President from 2009-2010.
After graduating, Akem served the Enga Provincial Government for over a decade under different capacities until he was appointed as the Special Projects Coordinator responsible for the establishment of the Pilikambi Hydro Proejct, the Surinki Strawberry Project and the Surinki Potato Project all successfully established under his leadership.
Well before entering politics, the Environmental Scientist turned politician has already established firm international and national connections which will be a blessing to the people of the newly created Lagaip district and Enga Province as a whole as he partners with these strategic connections to bring in the much needed infrastructural developments and services that are compulsory to establish the maiden Lagaip District Development Authority forthwith.
