Prime Minister Hon. James Marape has commended local technology company Kumulsoft Limited and describes the innovation as a true spirit of Take Back PNG.
Speaking ahead of the launch in Port Moresby, Mr Marape said Kumulsoft’s innovation reflected the true spirit of Take Back PNG a vision where Papua New Guinean enterprises drive national progress through innovation, ownership, and self-reliance.
“Kumulsoft is 100 percent PNG-owned and has proven that our local talent can deliver world-class digital solutions. This is what Take Back PNG means empowering our people to solve our own problems using our own creativity and capacity,” PM Marape said.
He commended the company’s partnership with the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT), describing it as a practical step toward realizing the Government’s Digital Transformation Policy, which envisions all government systems migrating to a secure, scalable, and smart cloud environment.
“For the first time, a home-grown IT company is hosting a SaaS platform on the Government Cloud a milestone that should inspire other local innovators,” the Prime Minister said. “Through digital transformation, we are not just modernizing government operations; we are empowering Papua New Guineans to lead in the digital economy.”
The Kumulsoft SaaS platform addresses one of government’s long-standing challenges management of fixed assets providing agencies with an efficient, transparent, and accountable system for tracking public assets nationwide
Mr Marape added that such innovation in the public sector is key to building a more transparent, efficient, and digitally connected government.
“I commend Kumulsoft for using technology to solve a real problem within our government system. By developing software that improves how public assets are managed, they are strengthening accountability and efficiency across all levels of government.”

The Prime Minister reaffirmed his government’s commitment to supporting local ICT enterprises and creating an enabling environment for innovation-driven growth.
