The four-lane construction in Mendi Town is part of the metropolis’ rehabilitation exercise and was awarded to a local contractor, Construct Oceanic Limited.
This project was on hold for more than six months due to delays in payments to the contractor, which saw more than 30 employees laid off.
However, this significant project has started this week, and is now at foot to progress smoothly with the installation of concrete line drains and foot paths etc. by the construction team on site.
The completion of this significant infrastructure project will be giving a timely facelift to Mendi Town.
