90 % of ExxonMobil PNG workforce are Papua New Guineans

Ninety per cent of ExxonMobil PNG Limited’s workforce are Papua New Guineans, a senior company official says.

National Content Manager Sam Koyama revealed this milestone achievement by the PNG LNG operator to the 2nd Papua New Guinea Special Economic Zone Summit in Port Moresby yesterday.

“Since the start of production in 2014 has not only helped launched new industry in PNG,” he said.

“The PNG LNG project has been its global reputation of operational excellence in the LNG industry, accepting the safety, reliability, and environmental performance.”

Mr Koyama said the world class project delivered its safest year on record in 2024, breaking the record previously set in 2023.

“PNG LNG focuses on applying next generation technologies to drive innovation.”

“From smart tools through to immersive and cloud based technologies that have been generated and that become pushes for engineers to help inform initiatives, support trends and improve processes.

“Engineers are now able to identify potential components that can impact the effectiveness of our maintenance program, enabling us to move away from a scheduled basis maintenance problem, which reduces paperwork and save time,” Mr Koyama said.
