NATIONAL Cultural Commission (NCC) is prioritising on its emphasis on human resource development in the public sector to train, prepare, and develop young aspiring people to join the workforce.
NCC Executive Director Mr Steven Kilanda said this when fare-welling five of the student’s trainee from the University of Goroka who were attached with the Commission (NCC) and with the Institute of Papua New Guinea Studies (IPNGS) for a duration of a month.
The University of Goroka (UoG) students’ trainees are Israel Kut, Gideon Francis, Elvis Huwai, Jordan Sangu and Stanley Anton. They were on four weeks industrial (practical) training as part of the Institute of Technical and Vocational Educational Training (ITVET) programme
Kilanda thanked the students’ trainees for being part of NCC and its sister institute (IPNGS) during the course of training.
He said it is a privilege and opportunity for the five trainees to come out of school and get to learn new things which in turn would help build your career in the future when they completed formal education.
“National Cultural Commission as it stands, focuses more on internal and external human resource development. Therefore, the trainees have been given the privilege and opportunity to observe, learn and develop their capacity as student to now having worked for the past weeks with NCC attached with various sections,” he said.
“We are grateful to have the trainees from the University of Goroka and hope you students learn the basics of being in an organization and develop your career pathway with NCC.”
Mr Kilanda added the commission stands firm and believes in human capacity building.
Student trainee representative Gideon Francis thanked National Cultural Commission for providing the opportunity for them to engage in the month-long internship training.
Mr Francis expresses gratitude to all staff, managers, supervisors, and Executive Director Steven Enomb Kilanda for accepting them to join NCC for the practical training program.
“We are really blessed for this opportunity. It was a privileged for us joining National Cultural Commission to undertake our internship program.
NCC has been really good to us, the people are friendly, kind and helpful,” said Mr. Francis.
He further elaborated that they treasured all memories made with NCC and they will keep those special bonds and moments.
