N’dranou: Let your good work speak for you

THE Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) for Border Divisional Command Perou N’dranou told the Policemen and women in Maprik during his visit recently to the District Police Station to let their good work speak for them.

He said this after interacting with the Policemen and women of Maprik and Wosera Gawi Districts and learning about the challenges they encounter on a daily to do policing in and around their areas.

ACP N’dranou stressed on why reporting of their work daily is important. He told them the same message that he told the other Police Stations in the Border Command and that is to always send in their daily reports. He urged Police Station Supervisors to always assess the daily performances of their members every time they are on duty.

“I have rolled out the Fortnightly Performance Assessments (FPA) in all Police Stations within the Border Command to help with the members’ assessment and reporting.

“It is only through reports like the Fortnightly Performance Assessments that will speak of the good work that you do,” says N’dranou.

He told them no one will recognize their daily work performance if no reports are provided, especially those that work in remote areas like the PNG Indonesian Border.

“Whilst they’re the only face of the Government authorities working with the rural people, their good work is not recognized by us in the urban area. I urge you all to make use of the FPA system of reporting for your own assessments,” says ACP N’dranou.

He also encouraged the officers to work with stakeholders. He told them that working with stakeholders work both ways and proves our effective coexistence.

“If we the Police need public support, then it is up to us to work on our daily efforts to impress the stakeholders and they can assist us in areas they can,” said N’dranou.

ACP N’dranou visited Police Barracks in Wewak, Maprik Police Station, Yambi Police Station of Wosera-Gawi District and Yangoru Police Station purposely to see where the stations are located, the facilities and to have small chats with police members at the stations.

Basically, he wanted to at least visit every station in his command, he has started with East Sepik Province and will continue with West Sepik Province and Western Province during his quarterly visits to each province.
