EDUCATION is the foundation of life and as a community bank, we understand the challenges in our communities and we give back where necessary through Education, Health and Sports as part of our annual community project initiative, says Financial Group Limited (BSP) Popondetta Branch Manager Samuel Okti when addressing students and teachers of Ijika Primary School recently.
“Being the bank of our people in the area, BSP is happy to give back to this school,” Okti said when handing over 40 new double desks, 8 teachers’ chairs and tables. The project also included the renovation and handover of the school’s grandstand and two classrooms by BSP Popondetta Branch staff as part of their community project for 2021.
Ijika Primary School Head Teacher Owen Miminegari who was overwhelmed by the project delivery expressed his gratitude saying, “most of the furniture in the school are old and slowly deteriorating. Receiving these new desks, chairs and tables and these minor renovations will definitely boost the academic performance of this school.”
“Basic education is the education given to pupils at the primary level and given necessary tools such as desks and a refreshed learning environment plays a big role in enhancing quality education in our schools,” added Mr Miminegrai.
The project is valued at K30, 000 and is not the first from BSP in the province.
