ENB Governor Michael Marum officially launched a province-wide induction program for all locally elected leaders yesterday (January 9, 2026).

This program is the final phase of the 2025 LLG elections and will run for four weeks from district to district; this will begin in Kokopo on January 12.

Provincial Administrator Levi Mano said the induction would coincide with the formal installation of the Provincial Executive Council and Assembly. Governor Marum stressed the critical role of local leaders as the primary link between government and communities for driving grassroots development.

This intensive training aims to equip LLG Presidents, Mayors, Ward Members, Recorders, and Development Committees with essential skills for effective service. Mandatory participation is required for these leaders to fully benefit from the program.

Governor Marum has reaffirmed his government’s commitment to supporting the leaders and has called for collective work towards an inclusive and prosperous East New Britain.
The district schedules are: Kokopo (Jan 12-16), Rabaul (Jan 19-23), Gazelle (Jan 26-30), and Pomio (Feb 2-6).
