WESLEYAN Church mothers of North Polu District are gearing up to host a week-long 5th National Women’s Convention from 25-29 September in Pangia, Southern Highlands Province.
About 1000 mothers and girls from the sister churches of Wesleyan from all over the country including Port Moresby and Lae cities are expected to attend this event.
Mrs. Ruth Kuruku from Wesleyan Church in Hela Province and Mrs. Elis Roy Mung from Kalvari Wesleyan Church, Mount Hagen city will be the two guest speakers of the convention.
The convention will be officially opened by National Superintendent of Wesleyan Church, Reverend Joe Ipanda.
Assistant Chairman and one of the longest serving pastors of North Polu District, Pastor Aruka Tali and station Pastor Reverend Nick Kira will be officiating at the conference.
The theme of the conference is: “Rebuilding The Temple of The Lord”.
The conference is supported by three main church denominations in the area – ALC Church, AOG Church and PNG Bible Church with kind and cash donations to their fellow mothers to stage the successful event in the community.
Many mothers and girls will be coming from the broken families, including deserted wives and widows who lived amongst the community with uncertain future.
The current monsoonal weather pattern in the area will not hinder the organizers as the delighted mothers are hell-bent in preparing for the event in anticipation of hearing the inspirational messages from two the guest speakers.
